Hello to those that are new and welcome back to my loyal readers. It’s good to have you here.
Updates:
Congrats to Alan on his marathon performance last month. He trained well, has taken his well-earned break already, and is already starting back up with training!
I’ve taken to the bike again - this time as a way to improve my aerobic ability while also giving my legs a rest from the pounding. So far, I’ve done three rides: 15, 15, and 22 miles.
I did my first workout in months this week: a nice and controlled fartlek run: 14 minutes of work. I’ll continue to grow that amount of work and I’ll also look to improve upon my pace and efficiency.
Spotlight:
Welcome back to some former runners:
Mariano joins me for the summer to prep for his freshman cross country season.
Todd joins me for a summer and fall buildup up races.
Shannon joins again after a great spring racing season as she gets ready for the Berlin Marathon.

Tips and Advice:
Are you training too hard? Arguably the best runner in the world right now thinks that too many of us are training too hard and therefore not getting everything we can out of training.
His advice? Save “going to the well” for championship races. Otherwise, everything should be very un-Strava-worthy.
Track News:
3 World Records were set in one track meet with a 4th broken a week before.
NJ Meet of Champions were postponed from Weds to Thurs… Because of potential mid day storms. As of this writing, the meet hasn’t happened, so I don’t know the results, obviously.
