Back in February - when it was still cool to register for races - I signed up for two.
The first was Haddonfield Running Co’s Adrenaline 5k and the second was Good Day for a Run’s Heritage 5 miler.
My plan was to celebrate turning 36 by getting in shape and running a race the day before.
Well, that weekend is now approaching and as we all know, it’s happening without any races, events, yadda yadda…
But I’ve still been training - probably the most I’ve run (besides marathon training) when I was supposed to be in-season coaching. The break from school and from coaching has allowed me to ramp up my miles [let’s be serious, it’s still less than 30 miles per week].
And since I’m running and feeling good {is sleep-deprived feeling bad or a different feeling? It’s really hard to tell}. So, instead of lining up with a few hundred other folks and possibly winning a delicious bottle of red wine, I’ll be finding a course or loop somewhere without any traffic to run a hard effort - maybe a 10k or 8k, but possibly a 5 miler like the race would have been.
Friday’s Action Plan:
Get some running in - maybe even some speed work - and then in 10-14 days, try a time trial!
Big Events Coming Up:
Good Day for a Run/ Time Trial
