Everyone has different needs. As a runner, that’s the case, but outside the running community, it’s also the case.
This week’s post, titled 9 Strategies for Runners Dealing with Cancelled Races, is a case study in looking at how many different options there are for runners who’ve had their racing calendar wiped clean.
Some runners are more motivated now; others are hanging on by a thread. And I think as we are looking at how runners are coping with their seasons gone, we can empathize with non-runners and see just how much they are struggling. We are the lucky ones who have running. We have built-in stress relief; we’ve known for x-number of years just how powerful running is for the mind, the body, and the soul.
While not everyone is as fortunate as I am - having the ability to work from home, having a happy and healthy family - we as runners can do our part to help share some of our good fortunes with others.
In my post, I wrote about where our running probably is in this crazy time: we’re either ramping up, scaling down, or maintaining. Regardless of where you are, there’s room for self-improvement and a chance to grow as a person.
I hope this writing finds you healthy and happy. I hope you’re able to get some exercise in during these times. If you need anything that I can help you with, please reach out to me!
