I got back into blogger mode this week. I know, it was a little easier now that I have a little extra time during the week. I always wondered what life would be like as a teacher if I didn’t have to “deal with” or manage bad behaviors - I guess I’m kinda getting my wish now.
Considering the absolute mayhem going on around the world, it’s safe to say that runners are not seeking out a new coach. Despite knowing this, I wrote about 10 reasons why (despite the “yuckies”), you should still consider hiring a running coach. Sure, there aren’t any races on the calendar and we can barely even run with our friends, but we still need accountability. We still need motivation. Coaches bring that and so much more.
Some of the nitty-gritty in this week’s post looks at what a coach does for a runner. Here’s a list of them - for details, you’ll want to read the post.
Strength training plans
No more guessing
Nailing the peak
Dealing with and overcoming injuries
New running workouts
Training logs (written accountability)
Motivation
Confidence
Specific training for your race
Obviously, I’m biased and I think that runners of all ability levels should have someone looking at their training from an outside perspective.
If you’re new, absolutely, you should have a coach. If you were new to a career, you get a mentor to “show you the ropes”…. It’s no different in running.
Been running forever? A coach can help spark the fire in you and get you back to your glory days!
Friday’s Action Plan:
For starters, take care of yourself. You can’t be successful at anything these days if you aren’t well. Then, invest in your future running goals. Big or small, a coach like me can get make you a faster, stronger runner.
PS. Want coaching without paying? Refer a friend and I’ll gift you a month for free.
