This week, I decided to write about the contrasting training of my last 14 months. Over the first 10 weeks of 2019, I was in monster shape - training for a marathon helps with that!
But then, I really didn’t do much of anything. I didn’t have a plan and I wasn’t focused on any particular race. Long story short, I floundered the rest of the year.
In 2020, by design, I played the first 2 months low-key (Hello Finnley!) and now that we’ve figured out his sleep, Carly and I have turned our attention to spring weather and spring races.
I’m committed to running two races - a 5k and a 5 miler - and I’m convinced that these two races will keep me motivated and driven to keep up the running in the doldrums of February and the blustery month that is March.
You can read the full post here.
So here are my goals for the next 10 months of the year:
Race 10 times.
Keep mileage consistent - no horrible, non-planned off weeks.
Run a variety of race distances (1 mile, 10k, 8k, and a trail race).
Maintain strength training.
