Happy Friday! Even with the short work week, this week seemed like it took forever.
I’m going to do a Friday 5 instead of a “typical” newsletter.
1. Do you like my new top banner? I updated the photos and updated my Team Nuun Legacy logo and my new Alter Ego ambassador logo.
As of right now, I’m an Alter Ego Running ambassador and a Nuun ambassador. Please check both of these awesome companies out and support them if you feel inclined.
If you want to check out Alter Ego, use my custom code which is “Pelly22”.
2. My new blog post went up on Wednesday. This one is called How Expensive Running Can Be. I know that running can get really expensive, so hopefully, you’re checking out specials like Haddonfield Running Company’s sidewalk sale. You can pick up some great steals there.
3. Age is just a number. If you didn’t hear the news out of Houston, you’ll definitely want to read up on Sara Hall (new Half Marathon American record) and Kiera D’Amato (new Marathon American record).
4. I have a Flipboard account (I love Flipboard; you should definitely check it out if you like to read) where I post about running articles. Here’s my profile and the topics I share are all about running (news, motivation, tips, and healthy living topics).
5. February Challenge. I don’t have a name for this, I don’t even have high expectations that I’ll finish it, but here’s what I’m trying: Run a kilometer for each calendar date (not in order) for each day in February. This is very similar to Des Linden’s mile for each calendar date.
I’ll be using this as a way to track my days and mileage and of course, I’ll be switching my watch to kilometers for the month just to keep things interesting. I’m going to put this in my Instagram stories daily - yes there will be doubles - and I know the hardest mileage days for me will be the weekday runs above 10k. Wish me luck and I hope someone joins me - if you do and kilometers are too much for you, try minutes or whatever else fits your running budget.
Hope this email was helpful. As always, don't hesitate to reach out here or in our Facebook Group, Ask the Running Coach.
