Quest for yet another sub-5 minute clocking

Back in 1999, I first broke the 5-minute barrier for 1600 meters. Every year since (except for 3) I’ve been under - whether in a 1500 equivalent, 1600, 1 mile, or during a mile in a 5k.

I like to believe that if I keep healthy, I’ll add the 18th year to my list. Before I take aim at a 1-mile race, I’ll be running a local cross country 5k (this Saturday) to get some mileage in, have some fun, and get back to competing.

After hopefully only 1 attempt necessary for a sub-5 attempt, I’ll see what I can do at a longer distance - maybe a 5k or 10k before hunkering down for our bundle of joy to arrive right before Christmas!

Then, in the New Year, it’ll be more of the same - staying healthy and helping Carly get back into running/racing shape.

In the blog, I go into details about my full running goals for ‘19 and ‘20. Have a read and let me know what your running goals are for the year!
